Last week in my newsletter, I shared about my friend’s flavorful vegan tacos. I got so many responses from my readers, asking for the taco seasoning recipe, that I decided to share it here, for everyone to enjoy.
Remember, many seasoning mixes contain gluten, even from companies who sell individual spices that are gluten-free. Always double check the labels, and when it comes to spices, check the company’s policy on gluten on their web site.
Gluten-Free Taco Seasoning Mix
This is a mild taco seasoning. If you would like more heat, see notes. One serving is the equivalent of one packet of seasoning. Make sure your basic spices are gluten free. My preferred brand is Penzey's.
Ingredients
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp dried minced onion
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions
- Combine all spices in a mason jar or similar container. Apply leak proof lid. Shake vigorously. Use as 1 packet of store-bought taco seasoning.
Notes
To increase the heat level, add 1-2 tsp of cayenne pepper.
